Ceramic bearings are 40% lighter than steel bearings.

 

A lighter bearing means less rotating mass.

 

Lighter rotating mass means less centrifugal loads on the engine.

 

lighter loads mean more power recovered from typical losses.

 

less centrifugal loads means the engine can rev higher and faster.

 

Ceramic bearings produce less heat and are stronger too.

 

Ceramic bearings are frequently used in F1 and NASCAR engines and have been proven to be superior than steel bearings.

The above picture illustrates a complete set of hybrid ceramic bearings used internal to the engine.

The hybrid ceramic bearing kit above fits all TRX450R axle bearing carriers.  Hybrids are used so that the race expands with the metal which the bearing is installed.  Full ceramic bearings are not used because they do not expand at the same rate as the metal and would fall out.
